NPP 031 : Esmond Baring – From Attachment and Conditioned Fear to Peace and Stillness
I’ve recently traveled a bit in South East Asia again. This time the trip went to Thailand and Vietnam before entering hipsters paradise; Canggu, Bali, Indonesia. On the Island of Bali, heaps of online entrepreneurs, yoga instructors, coaches, spiritual teachers, and other freedom junkies travel through or settle on the paradise island with low prices, high living standards, great weather, and flourishing community vibes.
Warrior Wednesday Men’s Group
It didn’t take long before we got to know some key players in the area, and before I knew it, I got invited to this “Warrior Wednesday Men’s Group” by this bawler big, black soul survivor, Robert Ian Bronnick. Let me tell you this guy has got to be one of the most naturally including hosts I have ever met. Streetwise as few having gone from being raised in a foster home to playing professional basketball, running big clubs, hosting A-list celebrity events before moving with his family to Bali. With his wife, he now runs a concept store called Lyfe In Bali, and this is where he runs his “Warrior Wednesday Men’s group” every week where men meet to talk, explore, philosophize and mastermind on whatever is on our minds. Usually with some general theme to guide the session a bit.
It was during one of these meetups I met today’s guest; Esmond Baring. You know those times in life you meet another person and both of you instantly feel calm in the presence of each other? Meeting Esmond was one of those moments. We locked eyes, greeted and I immediately noticed a direct truth, grounding, and honesty. I sensed a feeling of meaning and synchronicity. Naturally, I sat down with him for a chat, so we could share insights and give you some golden nuggets.
